About us - History

St Michaels Manor was built in 1839 for Lord Brocklebank, a clear representation of the wealth he and his family had acquired from their large merchant shipping firm when Liverpool was centre of the world’s shipping industry. 

In 1992 St Michaels Manor was purchased by Liverpool-based property company Maghull Group, working in partnership with Liverpool City Council Estates, planning and conservation departments to deliver the scheme. The property was sympathetically developed into the 42-roomed care home standing today. 

Working into the future, Maghull Group continue to maintain an active role within the home, providing further funding for its maintenance and development.
